The Geraldton Walleye Classic did not disappoint with some weather change and numerous fly hatches. It seems each year this tournament has some kind of hatch and huge weather change the night before the tournament begins. Many Anglers were on good fish before all the changes happenned. The bite had slowed down for some teams and got better for others. Denis Martin and Jean-Paul Laflamme were consistent both days but day 2 some them anchor their weight with a 6 lb walleye. This put them on top by 1 lb at the days end. Martin is fishing out of his new Princecraft boat this year which is only fitting seeing that the NOWT is primarily sponsored by Princecraft. Martin has been competitive angler for some time on this Trail.
Mike Faulkner and Rob Colquhoun came a close second but had their big day on day 1 while Bill Arnott and Kevin Rissanen finished 3rd. Once again, the Geraldton Walleye Classic presented itself as one of the premier stops on the NOWT due to their well run event. This event gets great support from many great sponsors and volunteers. This event continues to sell out each year and in fact always has a waiting list. Register now for 2012 to secure your spot.
