This year’s derby is scheduled to take place on June 15, 16 & 17 2012.

Most improved position valued at $1500 PLUS 2 cash prizes for the highest placing team who has a member 16 years old or younger. We really want the kids off the couch and away from the computer screen and on the lake fishing.

This tournament is in harmony with the environment, giving each team the opportunity to register only 6 walleyes per day which makes it one of the most competitive tournaments in Northern Ontario. Each team is allowed to register two walleyes 18.1 inches or longer per day.

 
Last year over 482 walleyes were registered with only  5 not surviving.

GENERAL INQUIRIES

The tournament format is a team of two individuals per boat and two days of fishing. The total weight for two days (walleye only) will determine the winners. Catch and release.

-Fishing hours: Saturday: 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

                       Sunday: 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

-Main tent: official weight scale for the derby.

-The boundaries for the fishing derby: from pont vert (green bridge) to the hydroelectric dam (Magpie reservoir see map).

-No refund after May 1st, 2012.

REGISTRATION AND ORIENTATION MEETING

-Beginning of Registrations: Friday June 15 at 3:00 p.m.

-Deadline of Registrations: Friday June 15 at 6:00 p.m.

-Orientation meeting for the participants will take place in the gym at the new high school “École Secondaire l’Orée des Bois’’ located at 159, avenue du Parc on Friday June 15, 2012 at      6 p.m. At least one team member MUST attend the orientation meeting.

-The random draw for team departures will take place as you register on Friday June 15, 2012.

-No substitutes will be accepted after 6:00 p.m. on Friday June 15, 2012.
