The next stop on the trail just got a lot more interesting for the Angler of the Year standings. The 2011 Princecraft Northern Ontario Walleye Trail Angler of The Year will be decided at the Sagamok Fall Walleye Classic on Sept 24th & 25th. Leading the way is Jamie Robinson and Terry Bernath. Some anglers are in close striking distance of the bragging rights. Not all anglers will be attending the tournament but it should be very exciting to see who comes out on top.
It is possible that many tie breaking rules will come into affect over the weekend to decide the AOY. Sagamok First Nations are ready to host another premier event. Water levels are lower then usual and the DAM is Espanola is mostly closed. Over the next week rain will be needed along with cooler temperatures to get some of those big walleyes to move into the river system from the big water. A little current will help as well. Based on the weather reports, rain is expected on 8 of the next 13 days. This just might be the ticket for a great ending to the NOWT season.
