The Hrciw’s captured the 25th GWC and took home a cheque worth $10,000. They were on big fish all weekend and their spots really paid off. The cold front on the Sunday definitely slowed down the bite for most but the Hrciw’s were able to put nice fish in the live well to hold off other teams looking to catch them with a final tally of 24.73 lbs. The top ten this year was very close and in fact the weights were much heavier this year with lots of fish being caught by all. This was a very tight tournament on all levels.
Rounding out the top three were Scott Abraham/Jeff Wanzuk with 22.61 lbs and Roger Hachey/Danny Dummas with 21.94 lbs. 50+ teams have already registered for next year. This field is capped at 115 boats so make sure you register early if you want to fish this great event in 2013.
Before the festivities begin, Streamside andHangbelly lure company gave out some nice prize packages to some lucky teams at the rules meeting as they do each tournament. Princecraft donated a 14 ft fisherman boat that some lucky GWC participating individual won worth over $2000. We would like to thank our sponsors for their generosity once again.
Next on the schedule is Sault Ste Marie on July 14th and 15th. This will be another great event that takes place under the big tent on the river downtown Sault Ste Marie. A larger dinner gala takes place under the tent Saturday night with a live band to follow. Don’t miss this great event.
